I have been up to Calfhall and Hagg wood this morning, however unable to spot the Pied Flycatchers. Where is the best place to see them, any help would be gratefully accepted.

Stang Forest last night, good views of a Nightjar churring at the top of a tree. 2 other birds were also calling at different locations within the forest. Sparrowhawk and Woodcock were also seen. If anyone is going to the forest via the A66 please note there are road works and traffic lights. Leave a bit earlier. Tracy please text me with your email 07941137953.

Before the crowds descended this morning I delighted in the tranquillity of our local woods - Hudswell, Calfhall and Hagg. Kingfisher, Dipper, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Jay, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, WW, CC, BC, Bullfinch, a Wren family, Mistle Thrush and Song Thrush were all on offer. Special for me today was watching a Pied Flycatcher pair provisioning their young - 14 visits in half an hour - captivating! Thanks Stephen for directions!
